Lake time: Fishing and Boating

When we are at my parents lake, my kids love to use nets to try to catch fish, or minnows, or those little shells that float about. Dollar store nets = hours of fun. They also like to try to fish. Love moments like these. Or moments like this on the boat, just hanging out……

A needed break

I have a quiet house right now.  Maddy decided to put herself down for a nap, and she seems to have really fallen asleep, it is needed.   Tonight will be a night to go watch her big brother so any rest will do her good. This past month has flown by.  We have been…

Some day…

Years ago I did a post titled something about Some days, you can find it here.  Looking back on this post, I am glad I have those moments captured here.  I haven’t written in this space in a couple weeks.  I haven’t felt it when I have actually had the time.  It isn’t to say…

Life Lately…Keeping it real

Last week Hayden uttered words no parent wants to hear “I hate school.”    He didn’t say it out of the blue, he said it in the midst of homework.  We have worked with him on his frustration with school since then and formulated another game plan but still those words linger in my mind…

Little tid bits

Tildy had her birthday last week, her very first birthday with us.  She was loved on all day.  We now have dogs that are as old as each of our kids, not planned, but funny nonetheless. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………   I got the dogs a new bed  for the kitchen.  Black and white polka dots make…

Parent chats and a boy on a mission

I am behind at keeping up with life on here, but then does it really matter.    Too many days pass where I want to blog about something or other but I don’t want to miss out on the life that is happening right then.  Somehow I will find a time when I can fit…

The importance of Friends

Hayden has had off Wednesday through Friday of this week.  I thought I would want to have something planned everyday but it turns out I didn’t.  I sometimes forget that my kids favorite thing to do is to stay in their jammies all day at home. We did have a couple outings this week though….

The week….according to me

Today Hayden has the day off school.  I thought a trip to the library would be fun, but both kids thought staying put in their jammies was a much better idea.  And I am fine with that.  I am enjoying the sounds of them playing, for now.  I am sure there will be a squabble…

Life lately..true colors

The trees have been showing their true colors and I am loving it.  Today I think some of our trees will give up their beauty to the wind,  leaf storms are brewing here.  I love the sound of the leaves blowing around. My girl has a serious love affair with these ponies.  They are pulled…

What will they remember from this summer?

As our summer is rapidly coming to an end, I have been thinking a lot about what my kids will remember from this summer. Will they remember that for most of the month of August we dog sat for a couple of my families dogs?   Will Maddy remember how she loved to play “tag”…
