Disney: The little things

It’s the little things that mean so much, the silly things sometimes.

These are the last of the memories that I don’t want to fade away.  Most are silly but I don’t care, I want to remember these little things.

  •   The last night we were there, we celebrated Andy and my Dad’s birthday.  I made the dinner reservations at O Hana, I knew they had a kids menu but the rest of us were going to eat the all you can eat family style meal.  There was a ton of food they brought to us, I don’t even recall all of it.  I only recall that Hayden didn’t eat off the kids menu that night, he was so excited to partake in the Steak, Chicken, Shrimp, Pork and all the side dishes that came to the table.  He tried it all and loved it.  Maddy?  She was just happy they finally had  a grilled cheese on the menu.

  • The night we ate at Cinderella’s castle  I love the look I caught of Hayden peering up at Snow white.

  • Hayden was more interested in getting his picture taken with the knight statue at Cinderella’s castle than getting his picture taken with a princess, who can blame him.

  • When we ate at Cinderella’s Castle we had a waiter that was 6 foot 9 inches tall, and he was hilarious, joking with my sister and asking Hayden what his pick up line was going to be when the princesses came by?  He told Hayden, I have one for you, when they come by just say “Whatsz up?”
  • After Maddy was made into a princess at Bippity Boppity boo boutique we spent the rest of the day going on rides.  At one point we were taking a break and all of the sudden two college age girls came up to Maddy and asked for her (the princesses)autograph, and they were completely serious.  It was sweet and made her feel all important.  I am sure they were cast members or something but it was adorable to see the look of shock on her face.
  • When Maddy got off the Soarin ride at Epcot (the ride where you literally feel like you are flying through the air over mountains and fields) she said very loudly “THAT WAS SO FUN!”

  • Knowing Maddy saw it all this time, seeing her eyes light up on the rides.

  • The ride Fast track at Epcot is a ride where you are in a car that you are testing out, to make sure it will stop and turn correctly.  You feel like your are going to crash multiple times and at the end it takes you from 0 mph to 60 mph really quick.  Maddy loved this ride so much she wanted to go on it again, and I thought she was going to tell me she hated it.
  • How much Hayden loved pin trading, his eyes lit up when we found somewhere to trade.  He even went up to other kids and asked them if they wanted to trade.
  • Just having my family with us, to have us all together, that alone made it special.

  • Watching Maddy take in the autographs from the characters, and I loved how the characters interacted with the kids.

Disney…thanks for the memories…
