Kid Craft: Easy Valentine Heart

Yesterday Maddy and I did an easy valentine’s heart that she has decided to give to her teacher.

All you need is construction paper (black, white, red, pink), white crayon and a glue stick.

Start with a piece of black construction paper.  Draw a large heart on it using the white crayon.

Next,  take the white, red and pink construction paper and start to tear them into small pieces.  Big enough so little hands can still hold them though. Little kids can help with this part too, Maddy didn’t find it super fun to tear the pieces so I helped her.

Last step, put some glue along the heart line that you drew and start gluing your pieces on.  I helped Maddy get start with following the outline of the heart.  Continue to work your way into the center until it is completely filled in.  We found it easier to put the glue on the paper and then attach the pieces of paper.

It’s a simple project and easy for little ones to do, and so cute when it’s finished.  Maddy added a foam heart to the middle of hers when she was done.   You could even cut it out when its complete.

Happy Friday!
