Life lately..true colors

The trees have been showing their true colors and I am loving it.  Today I think some of our trees will give up their beauty to the wind,  leaf storms are brewing here.  I love the sound of the leaves blowing around.

My girl has a serious love affair with these ponies.  They are pulled out, lined up, played with, talked about.  Rainbow dash, she’s where its at.

Although lately the outside has been winning, Maddy loves to be outside.   This is her happy place.  Somedays she hangs out here all afternoon, only stopping so we can hop in the car to get Hayden.

She takes the dogs out with her.  Tildy has made it her personal mission to try to eat all the acorns in our yard…look closely she has one in her mouth.  We have a lot of oak tress so umm, there are a lot of those acorns.  I have raked up a bunch but our trees just keep dropping them.

I think Tildy was a squirrel in another life.

This week Hayden has had little outside time after school, although Monday he choose to be free outside instead of working on a project that was due today, Thursday.  He doesn’t complain most days (he has had a moment or two though) that he has a lot of homework, he gets through it with me as his homework buddy.

I love how much he is learning but yesterday I admit I longed to head to a park (it was 80 degrees) and throw homework to the wind.  We didn’t, we stayed put and got it done.   And I didn’t let my true colors show about what I really wanted to do, but inside my fists were out and I was throwing a little homework tantrum.  Being the role model is harder sometimes than others.

We have found a homework groove, where Maddy plays outside while Hayden tackles homework or she does her own art project  at the table and keeps quiet.  This is huge for Maddy, my girl, she loves to chatter.

This week we have spent a lot of time outside soaking up what fall has to offer.  Today it is colder out, a trip to the library may be in store for us, maybe more painting.

What does this fall day have in store for you?

THinking of you with all this wind and the leaves.
Read this earlier in my reader and came by to comment and when flipping through quick looking at the pictures as I scrolled I was shocked at first when I thought Maddy was painting on the carpet and there was all that splatter. HA! And then I looked closer and SLOWED down andr ealized again she was outside. I thought at first, holy cow, Heather is letting her paint on the carpet…why does she worry about dog hair and not paint. HAHA! hope that made you smile.
